DrymaxX

DrymaxX brand clothing is designed to perform in extreme conditions. It provides protection and comfort in wind, rain and snow. A garment made from DrymaxX fabric with the right structural features is guaranteed to perform.

Waterproof, windproof, breathable, tested.

DrymaxX is a water- and windproof, breathable material that’s suitable for use even in severe conditions. The material’s properties are determined by the DrymaxX membrane. The DrymaxX membrane is bonded to the garment’s surface and/or lining fabric, depending on the garment’s intended use.

Construction of DrymaxX products

DrymaxX fabric on its own is not enough to make a product waterproof. DrymaxX products are designed and manufactured in such a way that their construction prevents moisture getting inside. All seams are protected with seam tape. Embroidery and logos are taped on the inside of the product. Pockets, zips and vents are designed so as not to let moisture inside the product. Besides clothing, DrymaxX is used in footwear and gloves.

Washing and care instructions for DrymaxX products

DrymaxX products must be washed separately, inside out. Spinning, tumble drying and wringing may damage the product. Do not dry clean. Specific washing instructions for each DrymaxX product can be found on the care label.

Don’t damage the DrymaxX membrane!

The DrymaxX membrane may be damaged by perforations caused by safety pins, etc. If a DrymaxX product develops a tear or hole, it must be taped after sewing to ensure that it is waterproofed. The use of waterproofing substances containing silicone is not recommended.

DrymaxX structure classification

3-Layer DrymaxX

In three-layer fabrics, the DrymaxX membrane is laminated with the surface and lining fabric. No separate lining is needed in the garment.

2,5 Layer DrymaxX

In 2.5-layer fabrics, the DrymaxX membrane is laminated together with the surface fabric. The inner surface of the DrymaxX membrane is treated to protect the membrane from moisture coming from inside and to prevent the fabric adhering to your skin. Thanks to this treatment, no separate lining is needed in the garment.

2-Layer DrymaxX

In two-layer DrymaxX fabrics, the surface fabric is laminated together with a special DrymaxX membrane. Separate lining materials are used in these garments.

Stormwall Softshell

With Softshell products, you wear fewer layers of clothing! A windproof and water-repellent membrane is connected to a tight, moisture-resistant surface fabric. The inner surface may vary from combed to smooth. The outcome is a soft, lightweight and flexible material used in products that are suitable for a wide range of activities.

Softshell Light

is wind and water resistant material that is very breathable and

flexible, and has no membrane. The product is suitable for many purposes because it can also be used for layering.

X-Stretch

is a four-way stretch material that’s suitable for extreme sports. The breathable inner surface is cooling and comfortable against the skin.

Active Dry

is a material that efficiently wicks moisture away from your skin and keeps you feeling pleasantly dry, even in intense use. The material does not absorb water itself, so it dries quickly. Active Dry is particularly suitable for wear as a base layer against bare skin in active sports.

Arcty

materials represent the latest generation of high-tech heat insulation materials. Arcty grades are ideal for mid layers, because their porous microstructure efficiently wicks moisture away from the base layer to the outermost layers of clothing. Ripstop

materials have an excellent weight to tear resistance ratio. To improve their resistance to tearing, Ripstop materials weave together threads of different strengths, making them lightweight and durable. The reinforcement threads in Ripstop fabrics can be seen as a faint grid pattern on the surface of the fabric.

Elastane

is a stretchy fibre which, when used in fabrics, improves the fit of garments made with them. Stretchy fabrics enable form-fitting styles without sacrificing comfort.

Dupont Comformax Classic

offers unrivalled insulation. It has four to five times as many fiberfill layers per weight as does ordinary padding. Each single fiberfill layer weighs just 5–10 g/m2 and creates a multi-layer structure that is a guarantee of superior performance.

Microtherm

is thin, lightweight padding, which offers excellent thermal insulation with technical and waterproof materials. This microfiber padding is supple and warm. It maintains its properties well in demanding conditions and in the wash.

Thinsulate

Thinsulate is a thermal insulation material featuring uniquely thin microfibres which bind more air into a smaller space. This makes Thinsulate a supreme insulation material. The thermal properties of Thinsulate are not significantly affected by machine washing or dry cleaning. Actually, tests have proven that the average Clo (the overall insulation value) of Thinsulate remains practically unchanged, even after many washes.

Body mapping

Body mapping is an innovation that allows the user to adjust the jacket’s warmth to suit the weather and the intensity of exercise. You can make the jacket warmer by attaching separate thermal elements to it. These provide warmth in the right areas without overheating other parts of the body. These thermal elements are easy to attach and remove.’

Wax finishing

Backpack fabrics

Box Ripstop Polyester

Strengthened Polyester fabric, made with a special weaving technique. Triple-treated Polyurethane to make it waterproof. The fabric's outer surface is also treated to make it dirt- and moisture-repellent..

Two-tone Ripstop Polyamid

This Polyamid fabric is woven with two different shade. Fabric is coated with PU on reversed side and water repellent treatment on the top side.

Tarpaulin

Strong and water proof material. Tarpaulin can also be welded by the seams.

Honeycomb ripstop

Polyester fabric with honeycomb structure that strengthens the fabric, thus enabling lighter basic materials to be used.

Ripstop Polyester

Fabric with Ripstop stucture as reinforcement. Suitable for light products.

Velveton

Soft, non-rustling fabric for hunting backpacks. Waterproof membrane is on the reverse side of the fabric.

Polyester 600D

Comfortable and flexible waterproof fabric used in back packs and bags intended for daily use. Triple Pu coating.

Coolvent back panel

Coolvent is a 3-layer mesh material that leaves an air channel between the back and the pack.

Sleeping bag fabrics

Meryl 35 / Ripstop

Superlight sleeping bag fabric, Meryl fabric is made of microscopically fine filaments exploiting the latest technology.

Ultralite R/S

DuPont Tactel Ultralite Ripstop Polyamide. Lightweight fabric woven from DuPont Tactel microfilaments, with structure strengthened by a strong ripstop knit.

Soft Touch Polyester

This fabric, treated by a special method, has a soft, fluffy surface that disperses and evaporates moisture and is comfortable against the skin.

Peach Polyester

This fabric, treated by a special method, is water repellent yet breathable.

Sleeping bag insulations

All down used by Halti is collected from birds that are already dead. Down or feathers are not plucked from living birds.

Down

A natural product recovered from poultry produced for food.

Fill power

The fill power value is expressed in the springiness and bounce of the down. 700 is an extremely high value and reflects good insulation and the high quality of the down.

Down 80/20

Down in ratio 80/20. Down 80% and small feathers 20 %, giving the filling more springiness and lightness.

Down 90/10

Down 90% and small feathers 10 %, giving the filling more springiness and lightness.

Microtherm

New-age technology product. Developed in cooperation with one of the world's leading fibre manufacturers. This insulation functions flawlessly also in the harsh and variable weather conditions of the North.

Quattrofill 7

Seven-holes fibre, which stores heat within it and insulates efficiently against cold.

TPU

Thermoplastic Polyurethane. Laminated on fabrics for mattresses to make the mat airproof.

Brushed 75 D Polyester

Warm, soft and comfortable against the skin. Diamond ripstop or solid structure.

75D Honeycomb Ripstop Polyester

Fabric reinforced with Ripstop structure. Suitable for light weight products.

75D Diamond Ripstop Polyester

Fabric reinforced with Ripstop structure. Suitable for lightweight products.

Tent fabrics (outer tents)

Silicon Nylon R/S

Silicone treatment makes the fabric tougher and more resistant to tearing. Slush and snow does not easily stick to this fabric. Ripstop structure strengthens the fabric. Fabric's tearing strength is 17,5 kg.

Polyester Ripstop

Quality outer tent material, coated with PU to make it waterproof. This material has also taped seams thereby improving the waterproofing further. Ripstop structure strengthens the fabric and improves the tear-resistance.

Silver coated Polyester

Basic fabric is a normal Polyester, but silver colour has been added to the PU. The silvering improves heat reflectance away form the tent fabric. This property is especially good in lean-tos and rescue blankets.

Polyester

Quality outer tent material, coated with PU to make it waterproof. This material has also taped seams thereby improving the waterproofing further.

Tent fabrics (inner tents)

Oxford Polyamid

Material is used especially in groundsheets and storage bags do to its excellent durability to wear and puncture resistance. This fabric is also coated to make it waterproof.

40D Ripstop Polyamid

Water-repellent but superlite fabric that ventilates a tent well.

Breathable Ripstop Polyamid

Used in inner tents. Water-repellent fabric that ventilates a tent well. Ripstop structure strengthens the fabric and improves the tear-resistance.

Breathable Polyester

Used in inner tents. Water-repellent fabric that ventilates a tent well.

Laminated PE

Used in inner tent floors. Strong and water proof, but not seam taped.
