Jenny Råghall

Education: Mountain- and adventure leader. Then a lot of different courses: ski patrol, avalanche tecnician, instructor for SVELAV (Svenska Lavinutbildningar) courses, 2016 I´ll finish “avalanche expert “ course, and a lot of first aid.

Job: Ski patrol since 2011, now based at Nuolja Offpist in Abisko, Northern Sweden, mainly working as an avalanche technician. Winter of 2016 Swedish Environment Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) started up public avalanche bulletins, and I´ve been working as an Area Manager for Abisko-Björkliden-Riksgränsen area. Another part of the job is avalanche consultant for Swedish Trafic Administration (control work and forecasting). In other words I´m spending most time outside digging snow profiles, constantly analyzing snow and weather conditions.

Summers since 2011 been guiding, mostly in Kebnekaise as a guide on the Eastern Route to Kebnekaise Summit.

Outside work: a total mountain lover. Ski mountaineering in the winter (Swedish champion 2016 together with Ida Nilsson), mountain runner and climber in the summer. Can´t see myself living anywhere but in the mountains - it has everything I need! I´m far more comfortable and happy in the middle of a winter storm than on a crowded street in a city!
